WALKING WITH GOD

As I am sitting in the cool of the day, although it is pretty hot, I like the Biblical saying “the cool of the day” reflecting and thinking on God and His precious Word to me. I am delighting in God’s Word.

For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light;

Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

Proverbs 6:23

The Amplified Bible states it like this:

For the commandment is a lamp, and the teaching (of the law) is light,

And reproofs (rebukes) for the discipline are the way of life.

The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD pure, enlightening the eyes;

Psalm 19:8

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Psalm 119:105

God’s word to us is Absolute Truth; there is no other truth. He is Truth! Yahweh! Yeshua HaMaschiach! The Lord God and Saviour Jesus Christ!

Reflecting on yesterday’s scripture above as I am completing this post today is so wonderful, and my heart is filled with the joy of the Lord, as it states above that God’s word rejoices the heart. Amen!

Our fallen nature, the flesh, is against God and does not want to follow God, but our spirit that God has breathed and regenerated or as it’s said in the Bible, you must be born-again, born of the Spirit- then our spirit agrees with God and we follow and walk with Him as He sanctifies us daily and grows us to maturity and one day when we leave the earth to His perfection. That is the next best amazing news after salvation.

Thus, God’s commands and laws are good for us because they teach us and bring us to the light and bring salvation, the path to eternal life and a life of holiness and righteousness in eternity with God. God’s word lights, illuminates, and reveals my heart; cleanses and cleanses my heart and my path; and convicts me and helps me repent and get back on track if I lose my way. God helps me stay on the path, so it is of vital importance to abide in Jesus, our God, in His Word, and to be doers of the Word, as His Holy Spirit in us leads and helps us through our sojourning on earth.

To be honest, I didn’t like the word discipline, and I think I still don’t like the sound of it, but I am growing and understanding that discipline is a good thing because God helps us to grow into His holiness and align our hearts and wills with His. It is a challenge because the flesh still tugs at wanting its own ways but I am so happy and thankful that God does not give up on us and He is so patient with us and He does not leave us to our own accord because He loves us so much and cares more about our salvation than we could ever care or even fully understand with what is at stake in the eternity. Throughout my adult life, I have been terrible at being disciplined, but I thank God for disciplining me and helping me do that and getting to love the word discipline. With God, everything is possible! Amen!

Therefore, no matter what season of life we are in, let’s rejoice as God tells us through Paul and let’s be encouraged in the Lord that He is so near and He will help us get through this life to be with Him in eternity. Wow! Hallelujah!

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
