All Glory to God - Praise and Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving and praising God are beautiful things. All Glory to God!

Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever.

Psalm 106:1

I was just thinking about it, the unbelievers, the secular world also give gratitude and are thankful, but to what and who? Isn’t it ironic? All humans know there is a Living God, Almighty, who created it all, but they deny Him. They are grateful to whom? - I guess Mother Earth, the sun or nature, other counterfeit gods, etc we can all fill in the blanks. They believe anything else that sounds unreal and ungodly, but deny the only Living God, Jesus Christ, who gave His life to save all; but not all will be saved because they don’t want God; they want their own false gods and idols. The Bible does make mention of that, especially in Romans chapter one.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.

For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes, both His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

For even though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the likeness of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonoured among them.

For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

Romans 1:18-25

Wow, that is a sombering scripture; God is serious, and He will not be mocked. God is awesome and good to us, and praise is on my lips for all His wondrous works in me, surrounding me and in the world. All glory to God for everything and His blessings and mercy on all, whether believers or not. If we still have breath in our lungs and don’t know Him, that is His mercy because eternity - the human mind cannot comprehend it; therefore, humans do not want to think about it but only focus on the here and now and worry about it when death comes, but that is no good to take God’s goodness for granted and it might be too late to leave it that late. God has appointed the days for each of us, how long we will be on this earth, and then follows eternity with God or separated from Him forever in torment, that is our choice. God does not force us to want Him and to want to be saved from our sins and His wrath.

But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:57

I will praise You, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvellous things You have done.

Psalm 9:1

The soul is uplifted and encouraged when it is praising and thanking God, worshipping, enquiring of Him and acknowledging God’s goodness and mercy. My heart leaps for joy at the thought of God and how I can rest in Him and hide under His arms and sleep in the palm of His hands, knowing and being confident that He has got me and will never let me go or leave me to my own destructive ways. God tells us - it is good and right to thank and praise Him for all He has done, for all He is doing and for all He will do.

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise - the fruit of lips that openly profess His name.

Hebrews 13:15

If we don’t give glory to God, then we are giving glory to something or someone, whether it is ourselves or idols, nature, creatures, creation, or false gods. We are all giving glory to something else if not giving glory to God.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I am grateful to God for life everlasting, for His mercy and forgiveness and that one day I can be with Him forever when I depart this earth. I am also grateful for all the blessings that He has bestowed upon me while sojourning on this side of heaven. I am grateful for my family and heavenly family and everything He has given me, and when darkness tried to overtake me, He protected me and destroyed it.

In that wonderful day you will sing: “Thank the LORD! Praise His name! Tell the nations what He has done. Let them know how mighty He is!

Isaiah 12:4

The Lord Jesus has been with me from day one, and He has walked me through even though I tried going my way, doing things my way, the Lord never left, He never gave up on me. What a good, faithful, merciful, loving, holy and righteous God! What kind of amazing grace and longsuffering and mercy is that? It is beyond anything that we know as humans; it surpasses all understanding.

What thanksgiving and Praise should we give Him for all His goodness, salvation, forgiveness and mercy.

Be encouraged, dear readers, and know Him; your salvation is only in the LORD GOD Jesus Christ!

This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalm 118:24
